    Chief Characteristics: Limestone is a natural, rustic looking sedimentary rock. Limestone is natural white but is colored due to iron oxide. Tiles come in brown, yellow, red, blue, black or grey.

    The stone captures fossilized plant, shells, animal life and sediment that add texture and character.

    Origin: Deposition by springs or rivers. Limestone is sedimentary rock. Over millions of years, settled material, including fossils, solidifies into solid rock.

    Location: Worldwide

    Composition: Calcium Carbonate. The main source of calcite is marine organisms – you can often still see fossils in limestone tiles. Varying amounts of silica and iron oxide.

    Ideal Location in the Home: Bathroom floor and walls
